Oil Boom Connectors
Thermoprene manufactures and stocks Oil Boom Connectors for floating oil boom containment systems. Our Oil Boom Connectors are produced to meet ASTM F2438-04.
Oil Boom Connectors are designed to be compatible with other existing connection profiles, including "Z" Connectors and the Light Duty Mini-Slide Connectors. Customer is responsible for verifying compatibility.
Oil Boom Connectors are extruded from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, and fabricated to standard 18", 24"
or 36" lengths and with two spring pin holes per the ASTM standard section 4.7.2. Fabric backing
plate is configured to mate with our standard bolt-hole pattern. Standard material is mill finish
(as extruded) and can be anodized per customer request. Standard connectors are sexless
(neither male or female) and universal (neither left-hand or right-hand).
Thermoprene stocks bulk profile extrusion for both the Oil Boom Connector and fabric backing plate shown in the drawings below. Custom fabrication is available from our stock material for production of any size connectors.
Thermoprene has spring pins with lanyards for Oil Boom Connectors in stock for immediate delivery.
